M.S. Microbiology, University of Pennsylvania, 1965
Ph.D. Animal Science, University of Delaware, 1970

Research Interests

The effect of low frequency electrical current on Zebra mussel survival. Currently working in collaboration with Matthew Ryan, IU Medical School, and Cliff Chancey, Physics Dept., University of Northern Iowa.

It is essential to discover a nontoxic method to control the spread of these mollusks that attach to almost any surface including water intake ports, boats, pilings rocks etc. We are exploring the use of electromagnetism to prevent the attachment and or growth of these organisms.
