Success Rate high for Purdue Calumet Pre-Pharmacy Students

40% of the 2007 undergraduate applicants from Purdue Calumet were accepted into Pharmacy School at West Lafayette.
U. S. News and World Report ranks the Purdue Pharmacy (Pharm.D. degree) program at West Lafayette as one of the top five in the country. Graduates of the 2006 program each received an average 3.3 job offers and an average starting yearly salary of $96,395. The program receives approximately 1000 applicants, but only 160 students (16%) are accepted each year.
This year, 40% of the students applying from Purdue Calumet were accepted. Purdue University Calumet offers a two year pre-pharmacy transfer program that is especially designed for those who expect to apply for admission to the Pharm.D. program at West Lafayette. “The pre-pharmacy program is one of the most popular transfer programs offered by our biology department at Purdue Calumet,” according to Dr. Feng-Song Wang, pre-pharmacy academic advisor. “Our program offers students from northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area an excellent opportunity to prepare for the Pharm.D. program close to home.”
