This program is a continuation of the A.S. degree and further enhances a student's leadership and supervisory skills.

3. Humanities and Social Sciences

BHS 201 Stat. Methods OR STAT 301
Electives (6 credits) Courses in communication, English, philosophy, psychology, and sociology are recommended.

The program is designed to meet the needs of individuals who wish to improve their leadership and supervisory skills. Students learn the philosophy, skills and techniques to be a successful leader. In this ever-changing world of technology, employers seek leaders with technical and human relations skills to guide their organization into the 21st century. This program will give you those skills.

OLS students have solid communication skills, strong work ethics, the desire to work with people, the willingness to accept responsibility and the ability to make a difference in the workplace. They are prepared to lead, organize, and develop an organization's most valuable resource: its employees.

OLS gives you the technical knowledge needed to develop an organization while enhancing your leadership qualities. Areas of study include human resources, supervision management, organizational behavior, training, safety, labor relations and arbitration and occupational health and safety.

Career options with a bachelor degree in Organizational Leadership & Supervision, Supervision option

Some OLS graduates choose to continue their education with graduate studies in technology, business administration, law and other fields.

With a degree in OLS, graduates can pursue careers in customer relations, human resources, supervision, project management, retail management, and corporate training and development.

Graduation Requirements

Experiential Learning

Experiential learning is a new graduation requirement for students who will be starting Purdue University Calumet in Fall 2008. This is a new approach to teaching; students go beyond theory based learning and explore ways to gain practical knowledge within their program of study. Students will enroll in two experiential learning courses while completing their degree. Experiential learning is offered through undergraduate research, internships, service learning, cooperative education, cultural immersion/study aboard, design project or practicum. Your academic advisor will assist you in selecting an experience that is right for you.
