  • B.A. Communications (R/TV)

Biography

Jodi has been a student of Purdue University Calumet since 1993.  She began in the major of Meteorology, but then made the transition to Radio and Television.  She participated in an internship in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida as an Attractions Hostess.  She then continued to work for Walt Disney World in Orlando from August of 1996 to January of 1998.  Jodi then moved back to Indiana so she could continue her studies at Purdue Calumet.

Throughout her course of study at Purdue University Calumet, she has participated in two internships other than the Walt Disney World College Program.  She interned at O’Connor Casting Company in Chicago, IL in the summer of 1999.  At the present time, she is involved in an internship with WGN-TV with Meteorologist Tom Skilling.  This is her second semester as a Lab Instructor of the Radio and Television Studio in Porter Hall.  Jodi also worked for Student Support Services as a reader during the fall semester of 1999.  Having been included on the Dean’s List for four consecutive semesters, she received a Merit Scholarship for the academic year of 1999-2000, and was selected to attend a reception at the Chancellor’s residence as an outstanding student of the Communication and Creative Arts Department.  She has been involved in the Northwest Indiana Symphony Chorus in which she sang “second alto” in the Christmas concert of 1999.  She was awarded with the title of “Fitness Member of the Month” for the month of February.  This is a program promoted by the Total Fitness Center at Purdue Calumet.  Along with her various job positions, she is also employed by St. George Broadcasting in Hammond, Indiana as a part-time Account Executive in the Sales Department.

Jodi will always cherish her experiences at Purdue University Calumet.  The faculty, staff, and students of the Communication and Creative Arts Department have created a unique and special atmosphere that gave her the motivation to excel in her course of study.
