Biography
When Dr. Willer joined the faculty of the Department of Communication and
Creative Arts at the start of the 1992-1993 academic year, she came full
circle back to Purdue Calumet and the Region. She was born in Hammond,
raised in Lansing, attended T.F. South High School and in 1971 attended a
computer class as a high school senior at Purdue Calumet! She has taught
at Moraine Valley Community College, Towson State University in Maryland,
University of Alaska Fairbanks, California State University-Long Beach
and University of Illinois at Chicago prior to coming to Purdue Calumet.
Her teaching areas and scholarship reflect her interest gender and its
impact on communication abilities, the influence of communication in the
workplace, and improving the teaching and learning process in the
educational and organizational environment. In addition to teaching and
scholarly endeavors, Dr. Willer has also engaged in communication
consulting for profit and not-for-profit organizations and individuals.
