Welcome to the Couple & Family Therapy Center

The Couple and Family Therapy Center (CFTC) at Purdue University Calumet provides couple, family, and individual therapy to area residents and university students, faculty, and staff. The CFTC provides services to clients from many walks of life at a reasonable cost. The CFTC operates on a sliding fee scale based on family size and income.

The Couple and Family Therapy Center is a training facility; as such we are able to offer lower cost for services because we train family therapists as counseling occurs. What this means for our clients is that services are offered by therapist interns. Cases are intensely supervised by faculty in the Marriage and Family Therapy master's program. Therapy is provided in rooms with one-way mirrors; clients are observed by a supervisory team headed by MFT faculty. Case management includes faculty reviewing sessions with therapist interns to ensure that clients receive the best possible care. The CFTC assures client confidentiality; any release of information must be approved in writing by you, the client.

To make an appointment contact the CFTC at 989-2027. The CFTC staff will take intake information from you; subsequently a therapist will contact you to arrange your first session. Evening appointments are available. If in the instance our services may not be appropriate for you or your family, we will provide referrals to you which are more suitable for your needs. In addition, all information is kept strictly confidential and any release of information must be approved in writing by you, the client.

From Interstate 80/94 take Hammond Exit 2B, Indianapolis Boulevard heading North. Take Indianapolis Blvd. north to 169th Street. Go west (left) at 169th Street, past Southeastern Avenue. The Couple & Family Therapy Center is located at 1247 E. 169th Street, Hammond, Indiana in the Purdue University Calumet Entreprenuership Center.
