Q: Is it Blackboard or Vista?
A: The company that makes the software is called Blackboard and one of their products is Vista. So you will see it referred to as
Blackboard Vista or just Vista.
Q: How is Blackboard Vista accessed?
A: The direct URL: http://www.calumet.purdue.edu/ecourses
The eCourses link is at the bottom of the Purdue Calumet homepage
Q: How do I get my Blackboard Vista username and password?
A: Faculty: You will need to attend the Intro to Blackboard Vista Training. For a complete list of training dates and times please visit the training website or send an e-mail to ecourses@calumet.purdue.edu.
Students: Your Username is automatically assigned to you, when eCourses
are created for that semester. Your username is your last name, first initial
and a number. Your password is your six digit birth date.
Q: How do I change my Blackboard Vista password?
A: You can change your Vista password from the My eCourses page. At the top right corner you will see a link that says change password. It will ask you for the old one and a mew password. It will then log you out, you will need to select Calumet Academic Campus and log back in, using the new password.
Q: What if I forget my password?
A: If you forget your Vista password you can visit the CTIS Customer Support Center (Gyte 133) to have your password reset. You will need to have a picture ID with you.
Q: When is Blackboard Vista unavailable for scheduled maintenance?
A: Vista is unavailable the first and third Sunday or each month from 6:00am-10:00am. A reminder will be put into the Campus Announcements in Vista.
Q: My students can not see the grades I posted for them.
A: You need to go into the Grade Book and go to column settings and release the grades to your students.
