Problem Solving System
Purpose Statement: The purpose of Administrative Services Problem Solving System is
to ensure a systematic approach to defining problems, identifying root causes,
implementing solutions, and measuring the impact of changes made.
Description: Administrative Services Problem Solving System is a series of sequential
steps that results in an effective and efficient resolution of a problem. This seven-step
model is based on The Problem Solving Memory Jogger by Goal/QPC. The process
begins by describing the problem and the current process. Identifying and verifying the
root causes as well as developing a solution and action plan then occurs. This completes
the planning phase of the problem solving system. Implementation (do), Reviewing and
Evaluating (check), and Reflecting and Acting on Learnings (act) round out the remaining
steps involved.
