Ashfaq Ahmed is a Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology.

He received his M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

Professor Ahmed has worked recently in designing and developing a variable power factor AC Voltage, a low cost power meter using Microcontroller, a low cost regulated DC-DC converter using off the shelf components, fully automatic power Factor Correction System for low voltage applications, designing and developing integrated controller for controlling the speed of Variable Reluctance Motors, and developing wireless interfacxe for remote control of a motor.

He is the author of a textbook in Power Electronics, published by Prentice-Hall. His professional career is equally divided in academia and industry. He has authored several research papers in IEEE journals and conferences.
