Certificate of Electronic and Pneumatics Instrumentation (Level I)

Prerequisites:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of AD/DC Circuits
  • College level algebra and trigonometry

Note: In case of background deficiency, entrants to this certificate will be directed to take appropriate remedial courses.

Required Courses (13 Credit hours):
(4) ECET 212 Electrical Power and Machinery
(3) ECET 214 Electricity Fundamentals
(3) ECET 217 Introduction to Process Control
(3) ECET 262 Programmable Logic Control

After obtaining this certificate you will be able to:

  • Read process and instrumentation prints.
  • Troubleshoot problems in industrial process instrumentation.
  • Select components and subassemblies for an industrial process and subsystems.
  • Use Programmable Logic Controllers to do process control projects.
  • Troubleshoot Progammable Logic Controllers, ladder logic and related power and control circuits.
