George Kvitek retired in June 2003. Before he retired he was an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. He received his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Illinois. He also formerly taught mathematics at the University of Illinois.

He was involved in research and development at the University of Illinois, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, NASA, Cal Tech, and Blue Cross Blue Shield in the fields of radar systems, antennas, space power systems, metallic superconductivity, telecommunications, artifical intelligence and parallel processor computers.

He is active in voluntary organizations and has received many awards.
