Chancellor's Welcome

Dear Students and Prospective Students,

I am pleased to welcome you to the web site of Purdue University Calumet’s ETIE program.English Training in Engineering is a unique program that offers a senior year of study in Purdue Calumet’s excellent Engineering curriculum for international students who wish to improve their English language abilities.
ETIE has the advantage of teaching English as part of the professional training of Engineering students. We believe it is easier to learn another language when you are using it every day in the context of your work and study.
Another great advantage of this program is that it provides “hands on” work on a Senior Design project under the guidance of our faculty. Each student in the program has the opportunity to “learn by doing.”
Purdue Calumet also offers the benefits of a comfortable campus atmosphere in a neighborhood setting with access to Chicago by public transportation. We are in an ideal location for international Engineering students who want to gain practical work experience and a stronger ability to speak English at the same time.

Sincerely,
     Howard Cohen Chancellor
