A false statement will result in the deterioration of the credibility of your institute as well as those who has written your recommendation letter to the President of our University.

8. Coverage of Scholarship The Monbu-Kagaku-Sho scholarship covers all essential expenditure for your study at University of Tokyo, including entrance fee, tuition and monthly subsistence allowance of JPY 170,000 (as of April 2007) for living expenses. (The subsistence allowance of JPY 170,000 (as of April 2008) is not a confirmed amount and may change with advance notice.)
9. Period of your arrival at Tokyo: A scholar needs to come to Japan between October 1st and 3rd, 2007 except Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In case of any possible aspect/situation, which interfere with scholar's departure from his/her home country during this period due to diplomatic procedure delay including departure permission, passport application, or SARS epidemic, etc., a scholar should report his/her situation promptly to FSO beforehand.
10. Changing your major (field of interest)/department/institution: The scholarship will be payable only if a scholar enroll at the designated department and institution. The payment will be discontinued in case of changing major/department/institution after enrollment.
11. Duration of scholarship Periods of scholarship awards are: two years for a Master degree student; and three years for a Doctoral degree student.
12. Return to home country A scholar will return to his/her home country upon completion of the study to contribute his /her country's development.
13. Rules and Regulations of Designated Institutions A scholar will adhere to the rules ad regulations of the designated institution and conduct oneself in a manner consistent with its ideals.
14. Enrollment to the Univ. of Tokyo A scholar needs to enroll in Fall-Winter semester 2008 in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Univ. of Tokyo.
