Hi, I am Lin Yuan, currently in the engineering graduate program. I worked at the tutor center when I was the ETIE student last year, that is also my first job. The tutor center is an organization of Purdue University Calumet. It offers free helps to students in various academic subjects. At the tutor center, everyone is very nice. All the tutors work for a common objective which is to help others at school. A tutor is one who has knowledge or experience in a given area who assists an individual or a group in achieving a better understanding of the subject by mutually exploring those areas where learning requires development. As tutors, we also provide another student or group with individualized help by facilitation of the learning experience. We work very hard to help individuals or groups to reach their academic goal the student may have set for him or herself. I feel very happy to work there. To become a tutor, you need to apply and have recommendation letters from professors.
