What do you do here?
I started working in the English and Philosophy department at Purdue Calumet in April of 1995. I am the lead secretary for the department and report to the department head, Dennis Barbour, but work for all other members of the department. My departmental duties include processing all departmental forms such as payroll changes, travel reimbursements and invoice vouchers. I assist students and faculty by answering questions about the department and the university. I also supervise one full-time secretary and two student workers.

What are your hobbies?
Right now my favorite hobby is playing with my new puppy, Rusty. He is a miniature dachshund and I'm working on training him to do small tricks. My other hobbies include, going to the beach, listening to music and reading.

What else do you do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my family. My parents and my younger sister live in Lowell, so I'm constantly visiting them. My sister has three small children, Tori, David, and Lindsay, and I love to play with them and spoil them. I also volunteer at my church. I prepare and deliver meals to families that are struggling due to a major illness or accident. In the fall, I also will volunteer to work with small children in our church youth programs.

Tell us about your family.
I live in Griffith with my boyfriend, Mike. We have four kids altogether. I have two children, Jacob, 14, and Erica, 12, and Mike has two children, Nicole, 16, and Mike, Jr., 14. Our friends call us the Brady Bunch since we combined families-except we don't have a maid. Jacob takes guitar lessons and loves to write his own music. Erica takes piano lessons but wants to learn how to play the guitar, too. Nicole's main interest is playing softball with a traveling team and Mike likes to play baseball. Having four teenagers at home can be challenging at times, but it is also so much fun. We are always busy and our home is very loud!

I have two sisters, Yolanda and Margie, and one brother, Dan. Yolanda lives in Florida, Margie lives in Lowell and my brother Dan lives in Terre Haute. We love getting together and talking about our growing up years and how we used to drive our parents crazy. I hope our kids will do the same when they grow up.
