Financial Aid Process

Financial Plan for Success

Plan for Success at Purdue University Calumet by having both an academic plan and a financial plan. Use the checklist below as a guide in developing your financial plan!

  • Apply for financial aid by doing the following:
    • Request a PIN (Personal Information Number) at www.pin.ed.gov (A separate pin would be required for your parent if their signature is required on the FAFSA.)
    • Complete and submit the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov for the upcoming academic year so it is RECEIVED BY the Federal Processor by March 10. This places you in maximum consideration for federal, state, and institutional financial aid, including student loans. The FAFSA also serves as your application for all need-based scholarships at Purdue University Calumet.
  • Apply for academic scholarship consideration at Purdue University Calumet by completing the Purdue University Calumet Scholarship Interest Form by March 10.
  • Complete your financial aid file with us! Respond to letters from our office in a timely manner. Use PCSTAR (Purdue Calumet's Student Access to Records) to keep track of where you are in the financial aid process.
  • Apply early for Admission to Purdue University Calumet.
  • Register early for courses. Registration for Fall 2008 begins March 24.
  • Develop a financial plan:
    • Set realistic goals for financing and completing your education.
    • Make a budget and follow it.
  • Review payment plan options available to you through the NBS/FACTS Tuition Management Plan. Sign up early for Fall, so you can take advantage of the no money down payment option.
  • Work closely with your academic advisor and a financial aid counselor to meet financial aid satisfactory academic progress requirements.
  • Meet with a financial aid counselor if you are thinking about withdrawing from a course after the semester has started to see what impact, if any, it may have on your current or future financial aid eligibility.
  • Contact the Office of Financial Aid if we can be of assistance to you.
