Educational Recorders
We have six audio cassette language testing stations in the IMC.
Each has a Sony ER-8020 Educational Recorder.

These Educational Recorders work almost the same as an ordinary
tape player except for a couple of minor differences:
* Independent Program and Student volume controls (The Program
is what the professor pre-records, the Student is the volume
of the microphone in the headset attached to the unit.)
* External audio input / output (Which is why you get computer sound
in the headsets)
*
Phrases / Instructions can be automatically repeated using A-B Repeat.
Orient yourself with the deck:

How to use:
1. To turn on the power press the attendance
button
(located upper left on the unit). When the unit is powered on
you should see a
red 000 on
the display.
2. The cassette control
buttons (rewind,
stop, play etc..) are the same as any
normal tape player. There
is
also an extra
control
button that allows
playback (A-B Repeat) and the record
button allows you play the program and record
simultaneously.
3. To adjust
the program
volume turn the Program Volume button until you find a comfortable
setting. Do the same for the Student Volume.
