Associate Professor of Information Systems
Professor Mick holds a Bachelor¡¯s degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis
in Accounting, from Greenville College, and a Master¡¯s degree in Data Processing
(Information Management) from Washington University, St. Louis. He is currently
ABD at DePaul University in Computer Science, with concentrations in Information
Systems, Software Engineering, and Software Management.
Joining the faculty at Purdue University Calumet in 1992, he brought extensive industry
experience in computer operations, software development, systems analysis and design,
and management for various firms including Inland Steel, McDonnell Douglas, and
British Telecomm. He also taught part-time for Indiana University Northwest in the
computer technology area.
Prof. Mick has taught a variety of courses, including networking, database, object-oriented
analysis and design, and a number of computer programming languages. He has a special
interest in the Java programming language, in which he teaches both introductory
and advanced courses. His research interests are in Information Systems analysis
and design, ethics, and software development.
