The LASS Mentoring Center
Centrally located in CLO 152, the LASS Mentoring Center, sponsored by the School
of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences,
acts as a front
door to the School of LASS for students.
With
its wide
variety of services, resources, and activities, it is designed to help you
make the best use of the School's many offerings.
The LASS Mentoring Center is staffed with a cadre of professional
advisors and the LASS Dean's Mentors who can address student needs at all levels of development
throughout the college
career. Whether you are an incoming new student who needs guidance
in deciding on a major or
a senior looking towards employment and/or graduate school, the LASS
Mentoring Center can help.
This initiative of the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences embraces the goals of the Student Success Network. It is directly linked to the
LASS Strategic Plan's strategy of strengthening students' academic and social connections to other students, faculty and staff in the School of
Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
The LASS Mentoring Center provides students with a specific
place to go for advising and mentoring, as well as a source of information
about things like study
abroad, internships and graduate studies. The use of professional
advisors and student mentors facilitates connections with other students,
faculty and staff in the School of LASS -- connections that will lead
to success in college.
A student who is well informed from the beginning of his/her academic
career and has an accessible on-campus support center is more likely
to be successful in college. The LASS Mentoring Center is such a support,
offering services, information and help to you as you go through
the advising process each semester.
