Senior Selected for Undergraduate Student Research Award

Otis Brewer, Purdue University Calumet senior, Human Resource Management major and Accounting major, was one of the Undergraduate Student Research Award recipients recognized for his research at an award ceremony March 23, 2007. Brewer initiated his research in the McNair Summer Research Internship Program during the summer of 2006 working with faculty mentor Ed Furticella. Brewer presented his research, How Does the Sarbanes - Oxley Act Impact the Investors of Northwest Indiana?, at the Ronald McNair National Scholar Research Conference last fall. His project ranked at the top of the selection process.

Brewer was invited to present his research at the first annual Purdue System Student Research Competition on April 20 – 21, 2007 at the Center. Due to prior commitments, he is unable to represent Purdue University Calumet at the competition.
