‘Could NIU Happen at PUC?’ forum scheduled Tuesday (2/19)
“Could NIU Happen at PUC?” is the focus of a crisis awareness forum scheduled at Purdue University Calumet Tuesday (2/19) at 1:30 p.m. in Calumet Falls student lounge of the University’s Student Union & Library.
With respect to this week’s shooting tragedies at Northern Illinois University, members of Purdue Calumet’s Crisis Management Team will listen to concerns and discuss the University’s emergency preparedness strategy. The forum also will focus on how information during a campus emergency/crisis would be communicated and updated.
A question/answer session also will be held.
“While no university can guarantee preventing a tragedy of the nature that occurred at Northern Illinois University, we can takes steps of preparedness and vigilance with respect to the possibility of crises and emergencies on our campus,” Purdue Calumet Chancellor Howard Cohen said. “Emergency/crisis preparedness is something we hope never to have to use, but, nonetheless, consider a prudent investment in our campus.”
The forum will be recorded and available for viewing later Tuesday from the Purdue Calumet web site at the following link: ‘Could NIU Happen at PUC?’ Forum Video
