DeMotte student gains $1,000 scholarship
David Fischer, a Purdue University Calumet junior finance major from DeMotte, has received a $1,000 scholarship from the National Association of Purchasing Management Northwest Indiana (NAPM-NI).
Fischer was selected based on academic performance and an interview process by a committee of representatives from local companies.
Along with his completed application, Fischer said he wrote an essay about the supply chain and how it will affect corporate America in the upcoming decade.
Fisher’s responsibilities as a scholarship recipient include writing an article for NAPM-NI’s newsletter.
He is preparing for a career as an investment banker or financial advisor and plans to pursue a master’s degree in finance.
Lori Feldman, head of Purdue Calumet’s Department of Marketing, Human Resources and Management, said the scholarship may lead to an internship for Fischer.
