International film series features Chinese films in March
Purdue University Calumet’s International Film Series continues this month with three Chinese films. The films will be subtitled in English and feature a Purdue Calumet faculty member leading discussion before and after each film.
All films will be shown in YJean Chambers Hall of the third floor of the Student Union & Library at 7 p.m. The selected films are:
- Wednesday (3/5) — “Yin shi nan nu” (Eat Drink Man Woman) by Ang Lee, a family drama.
- Thursday, March 20 — “Huang tu di” (Yellow Earth) by Chen Kaige, a drama about a Communist soldier.
- Wednesday, March 26 — “Duo luo tian shi” (Fallen Angels) by Wong Kar-Wa, a Hong Kong based drama.
Admission is free.
Purdue Calumet’s Student Union & Library is located one-third mile north of Interstate 80/94, three blocks east of Indianapolis Boulevard, north of the traffic light on 173rd Street. Free parking is available in the lot south of the Student Union & Library.
