Research centers/institutes updates, student presentations highlight Research Week 3/20-21
Purdue University Calumet Research Week activities continue Thursday (3/20) and Friday (3/21) on campus with update reports about the university’s research centers and institutes, as well as student research presentations.
In a strategic effort to advance northwest Indiana, Purdue Calumet has established nine research centers and institutes, which have attracted more than $5 million in grants. From 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday (3/20) updates will be presented about the Northwest Indiana Transportation Center, Northwest Indiana Center for Evidence-Based Nursing Practice, Center for Global Studies, Energy Efficiency & Reliability Center, Water Institute, Institute for Social and Policy Research, Center for Science & Technology Education, Center for High Performance Computing and Center for Math Teaching and Learning.
Additionally, some 60 Purdue Calumet undergraduate and graduate students will present their research Friday (3/21) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
All presentations will take place in The Calumet Conference Center at the far south end of campus.
“Research Week is designed to showcase and celebrate the exceptional research performance by Purdue Calumet faculty and students,” Purdue Calumet Associate Vice Chancellor of Research and Development George Hong said. “In addition to our students, previously this week, more than 50 faculty members provided 23 oral presentations and 20 poster presentations about their research activities.”
Purdue Calumet Research Week is sponsored by the Faculty Development Committee of the Faculty Senate, the Office of Research and Professional Development, the Student Research Office, the Office of the Graduate School and the Research Board.
