Irish Cultural Fest on campus Saturday, April 12
Music, dancers, traditional Irish food and exhibits are among the festivities scheduled during Purdue University Calumet’s Irish Cultural Fest, Saturday, April 12, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The fest, “Erin Go Bragh—Ireland Forever,” will be held in Alumni Hall of the Student Union & Library. It will feature such performers as the Larkin and Moran Band, Mayer Dancers, Lake County Sheriff Bagpipers and the Dennehy Dancers.
Arts and crafts will be displayed. Additionally, representatives of various regional Irish specialty shops will be on hand to exhibit their wares.
Attendees also can enjoy a light meal of authentic Irish dishes prepared by Winston’s Delicatessen of Tinley Park, Ill.
Admission, including refreshments, is free.
The cultural fest is the latest in Purdue Calumet’s Building Community Through the Arts program series, designed to celebrate the ethnic and cultural diversity of northwest Indiana.
The Student Union & Library is located one-third mile north of Interstate 80/94, three blocks east of Indianapolis Boulevard, north of the traffic light.
