NEWS RELEASE:
‘Technology Day’ is Thursday (4/24)
High school students, parents and industry professionals are invited to take an up close and personal look at Purdue University Calumet’s School of Technology programs, Thursday (4/24) from noon to 6 p.m. in the Student Union & Library.
‘School of Technology Day’ will provide opportunities to learn more about undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered through the School of Technology and the related jobs and careers for which graduates will be prepared.
High school attendees also can discuss educational and career goals with Purdue Calumet faculty and academic advisors, talk to upper class Purdue Calumet technology students about their senior projects that will be on display, and learn more about scholarships and university/high school dual credit classes.
“We also welcome professionals from local industry to come and learn more about what we offer,” Purdue Calumet Dean of the School of Technology Niaz Latif said. “Their expertise about technological trends is also helpful to us as we continue to develop and advance our curricula in ways that reflect employer needs. They also can discuss their workforce needs with our faculty.”
Purdue Calumet’s School of Technology offers baccalaureate degree programs in computer information technology, construction management and engineering technologies, electrical and computer engineering technology, industrial engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, computer graphics technology, and organizational leadership and supervision. At the graduate level, a new Master of Science in Technology, combining technical skills with business/management knowledge, is enrolling students for next fall.
