PUC ‘Working Smarter’ registration deadline extended
The registration deadline for Monday’s (6/23) "Working Smarter in the 21st Century" job and career enrichment program at Purdue University Calumet has been extended.
Individuals can qualify for free admission to the program – beginning at 6:15 p.m. at the Calumet Conference Center of Purdue Calumet – by registering no later than Sunday (6/22). Otherwise, the at-the-door charge is $20.
Prospective attendees can register one of two ways:
- on line at the Purdue Calumet Working Smarter Web site at www.calumet.purdue.edu/workingsmarter or
- by phoning the Purdue Calumet Office of University Relations at 219/989-2217 or toll free at 800/HI-PURDUE, ext. 2217 and providing one’s name and phone number. Callers will receive a confirmation phone call from a university staff person Monday morning (6/23).
The 21st annual program, co-sponsored by The Times and Post-Tribune, is intended for anyone searching for a job, others who are at a career crossroads, those contemplating a job/career change, others concerned about work force reduction, those planning to return to the work force after an extended absence, or others seeking job/career direction.
Topical, mini-sessions will focus on: determining personal and professional benefits one has to offer an employer, the role of personality in career decision-making, resumeā² improvement tips, important considerations when starting or contemplating starting a business, and short-term learning/training available opportunities at Purdue Calumet.
Informative handout information will be provided to each attendee. Refreshments also will be served. Attendees also will have an opportunity to interact with presenters.
