Oct. 28 fitness seminar focuses on preparation for 4-mile road race
In anticipation of its Nov. 9 Fall Frolic 4-Mile Run, Purdue University Calumet’s Fitness Center will host the seminar, “What You Need to Know with Two Weeks to Go,” Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. in Room 129 of the university’s Fitness & Recreation Center.
The seminar, presented by Purdue Calumet Fitness Center Coordinator and veteran distance runner John Bobalik, will provide an overview of what runners/walkers should know about training, nutrition and other preparation for the Nov. 9 race. The run/walk will take place through the neighborhood around the Purdue Calumet campus.
At the seminar, attendees will be advised about proper warm-up, hydration, what to eat the night before the race, what to wear, how to pace oneself and other race-specific information intended to help participants perform their best.
