51 freshmen receive full tuition Chancellor’s Scholar Awards for 2008-09 academic year
Fifty-one recent high school valedictorians and salutatorians—nine from Indiana, 40 from Illinois and two from Michigan—have received full tuition Chancellor’s Scholar Awards to attend Purdue University Calumet this fall.
In addition to full tuition and related fees, the award covers a stipend for books and supplies and 50 percent of living expenses at Purdue Calumet’s campus apartment complex, The University Village. To maintain the scholarship and stipend, students must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average while enrolled as a full-time student.
Indiana recipients and their high schools, listed alphabetically by their community of residence are: Demotte: Katie Rose (North Newton); Dyer: Amy Poortinga (Heritage Christian); Gary: Carlos Hynes (Campagna Academy); Griffith: Jacob Ballah (Calumet Baptist); Hammond: Alexah Graziano (Gavit) and Anna Weaver (Morton); Hobart: Margaret McCroskey (River Forest); Lake Station: Candice Wojnaroski,(Edison); and Whiting: Craig Fruth, (Clark).
