You may qualify for admission & scholarship at ‘View Purdue Calumet,’Friday, Dec. 5
High school students, recent high school graduates, parents and other adults are invited to explore educational opportunities at Purdue University Calumet, Friday, Dec. 5,during a “View Purdue Calumet” program, at which high school seniors can qualify for admission and receive a scholarship.
During the 9 a.m. visitation program in Alumni Hall on the third floor of the Student Union & Library, high school seniors will have an opportunity to have their Purdue Calumet admission application evaluated on site. They also can find out if they qualify for any of several merit scholarships available at Purdue Calumet.
“During these trying economic times, parents are concerned about how they and their sons and daughters can afford a college education,” Purdue Calumet Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment Dorothy Frink said. “This program is intended to provide prospective students a chance to visit campus, discuss their goals and plans with faculty and other campus representatives, and then learn before they leave whether or not they qualify for university admission and a scholarship.”
To take advantage of the opportunity, high school seniors must bring to the program a completed Purdue Calumet application, their official high school transcripts (sealed), and a copy of their SAT and/or ACT scores.
Enrollment and student services representatives plus faculty from Purdue Calumet’s 16 academic departments will be present to discuss degree programs offered in more than 100 areas of study, admission procedures, scholarships and other financial aid, student housing, experiential learning and career development opportunities.
High students desiring to attend the program should see their high school guidance counselor in advance.
Campus tours, including Purdue Calumet’s student apartment facility, The University Village, will be held, weather permitting.
Purdue Calumet’s Student Union & Library is located one-third mile north of Interstate 80/94, three blocks east of Indianapolis Boulevard, north of 173rd Street. Free parking is available by turning north at the traffic light on 173rd Street, one-half block east of Woodmar Avenue.
Additionally, adults wishing to start or resume a college education at Purdue Calumet are invited to attend Purdue Calumet’s Adult Registration Day, Wednesday, Dec. 10.
