RE: Guidelines for the Outstanding Sponsored Research Award
On behalf of Vice Chancellor Ibrahim, we are pleased to initiate the Purdue University Calumet Outstanding Sponsored Research Award (OSRA). OSRA is designed to recognize a distinguished sponsored research grant and/or significant sponsored research performance conducted by a current Purdue University Calumet faculty member.
I. Award
1. Certificate of recognition and a $1,000 award
2. One award annually
II. Award Eligibility
1. The applicant must be a current full-time tenure track or tenured faculty member during the academic year when the award is given.
2. The applicant must have secured a significant sponsored research grant and/or must have demonstrated significant sponsored research performance within the past three years at PUC.
3. The applicant must be or has been a Principal Investigator (PI).
III. Award Nomination and Evaluation
1. Formal nomination must be made by a member of the academic community. (Student nominations and self–nominations are not acceptable).
2. Nominated candidates must provide documentation supporting the grant activity, e.g., list of sponsored research activities and a copy of the award letter(s).
3. A PUC Research Board has set up a review committee chaired by Dr. Amlan Mitra with faculty representation from each school to review all applications for this award.
4. All nomination and supporting materials must be received by the Office of Research and Professional Development no later than 4:00 pm on August 25, 2006.
