return to faq topics
Do I pay for meals and snacks?
Please see the fee schedule for more information on meal fees. Breakfast and snack items are furnished by Purdue Riley. The costs of meals are included in full-time and in full-day rates.
What food do you serve? Will the teacher let me know if my child eats?
Menus for all meal times and snacks are posted on the parent board in the front lobby. You may request a copy of the menus. You are welcome to speak to your child's teacher for more information about your child's eating habits.
Can I bring a treat for my child's birthday?
Yes, but only store purchased items are allowed (per state licensing). We encourage the purchase of healthy snacks.
Please see your child's lead teacher. Your child's lead teacher can help with the planning.
Will you hold my child's meal if we are running late to school?
No. We cannot hold meals because we have to follow state food service guidelines. Temperatures of foods are taken upon arrival from the vendor. Food must be served immediately.
What do I do if I have a concern regarding the menu? Can your program meet my child's special dietary needs?
We would be happy to consult with you regarding your special concerns. An ideal time to discuss this is prior to your child's enrollment in the program. Please feel free to speak to the director or assistant director regarding any concerns you may have about menu items. For example, if you tell us your child is lactose intolerant we will be happy to work with you on a substitution provided that we have a physician's note on file and a signed waiver on file for the substitution. Please see the parent handbook health section for more information on allergies, dietary requests and special requests. We honor all medical/cultural/religious dietary requests.
Medical requests require a physician's note and religious modifications require a parent note on file.
