How is the child center assessed?

As a state licensed child center we must meet the Indiana Rules for Licensing Child Care Centers. State licensing consultants can visit programs unannounced at any time. We have been a NAEYC accredited child center since 1987.

Programs accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, have voluntarily agreed to undergo a comprehensive internal self-study every five years. Parents, staff and administrators are involved in the self-study. An external review is requested to verify program compliance with NAEYC criteria. Centers that are in substantial compliance with the high quality standards are awarded NAEYC accreditation.

We conduct annual program assessments. We use NAEYC tools to gather information for the development of center program goals.
