How does billing work?

Tuition is due two weeks in advance of child care/educational services. A tuition/payment schedule is distributed at the beginning of each semester. There are 15 weeks in the semester. Tuition is not based on attendance.

Where do I pay my bill?

We accept checks and money orders at the receptionist desk in the front lobby. Cash and other payment methods are accepted in the Student Services Business Office located in the Fitness and Recreation building (just to the northeast of the child center).

What if my financial aid does not come through? What if I lost my job and I do not have the funds to pay for child care?

Please make an appointment to see the center director. You will be asked to choose an alternate payment plan which may include temporary withdrawal from the program until your child care bill is paid in full. You can e-mail tjbottom@calumet.purdue.edu or call the director to arrange a time to meet at 989-2343.

Do I pay for holidays and illnesses?

Yes. There are no reimbursements for illnesses or holidays, or early center closings.

What if there is an error on my bill?

Please make arrangements to speak to the center director or center secretary. A message can be left in writing and placed in the small center mail box in the front lobby or you can call to set up an appointment.

Will the center accept payment from Hoosier Works, The Lake County Child Care Development Fund Program (CCDF)?

Yes. We accept full-time voucher placements only. Please make arrangements with the center secretary or director. Billing forms from the appropriate agency with the name, address and phone number of the agency (and caseworker if possible) must be submitted to the center secretary. You will be expected to pay for any charges that any agency will not reimburse, i.e. full daily cost of care, late fees, extended care fees or registration fees. Again, families are fully responsible for any costs not covered by CCDF, for any reason, whether or not a co-payment has been established. Please see the center secretary or director for further information.
