RideShare
Is the cost of gas putting a major dent in your budget? Are your
wheels out of service for a while? Then, you might be interested in
PUC RideShare! And, it’s as easy as 1-2-3!
First, submit your request for a ride or for a rider to join you
by filling out the easy, online form. List your ideal time of
departure and the location for which you’d like the ride to
originate. It might be helpful to list the ideal time for which
you’d like to return, too. Make sure to use your Purdue University
Calumet email address as it’s required on the form. Requests with
other email addresses will not be listed on the RideShare web page.
Second, once you’ve had email contact with your potential
RideShare partner, arrange to meet them in a public place on campus
to discuss the specifics of your RideShare agreement. This is your
opportunity to see if an arrangement like this with a person like
this could work for you. Be sure to discuss:
- Times and places of departure and return trip
- Arrangements for splitting transportation costs (i.e.
sharing the cost of gas, rotating the driving schedule, etc.)
- Ways to get hold of each other in case of an emergency
Third, give it a try for a while! Then, decide if this truly is
the way to go! Also, you may find that you and your RideShare
partner may need to make adjustments to your ride agreement.
Whatever the case...be safe and enjoy this new service! |
