National testing is available for ACT, SAT, GRE, GRE Subject, PRAXIS I & II, and the CLEP.
SAT
The SAT test is divided into two tests: Reasoning and Subject matter.
The Reasoning Test is a three-hour, primarily a multiple-choice test, that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities that have developed over time.
The Subject Matter Test is a one hour test.

PRAXIS Series
The Praxis Series assessments are used by colleges and universities for entry into Teacher Education programs.
Praxis I: Academic Skills Assessments are designed to be taken when beginning college to measure reading, writing, and mathematical skills
Praxis II: Subject Assessments measure knowledge of teaching subjects.
Praxis III: Classroom Performance Assessments are used to evaluate all aspects of a beginning teacher's classroom performance.

Registration fee per test date (nonrefundable) is $ 40.00.
Test Fee amount varies per subject $30 - $115.00 plus registration fee.

GRE (Graduate Record Examinations)
The Graduate Record Examinations tests are taken by individuals applying to graduate schools.
Subject Tests
Registration fee: $ 150.00.
The Subject Tests measure achievement in specific subject areas and assumes the student has majored in the subject or has extensive background in those disciplines. Free descriptive booklets are available in downloadable format on the GRE Web site at www.gre.org. The booklet describes the test in more detail, and includes test-taking strategies, content specifications, sample questions and answer key and information to help understand the scores.

The General Test
Registration fee: $ 115.00.
The test offered on the computer is an adaptive test; that is, it is tailored to your performance level and provides precise information about your abilities using fewer test questions than traditional paper-based tests. The test measures verbal, quantitative, and analytical reasoning skills that have been developed over a long period of time and are not necessarily related to any particular field of study.

CLEP®
The Skills Assessment & Development Center is the testing location at Purdue Calumet for CLEP® examinations. The CLEP® exam is a 90 minute timed computerized exam that, if successfully passed, allows you to receive college credit. This service is provided for anyone wanting to receive college credits through CLEP® which will be accepted by their college.
Those who are taking the CLEP® need to check with their advisor from which the scores will be sent. The advisor will provide information on which CLEP® tests will be accepted for a particular degree. Candidates requesting scores be sent to Purdue University Calumet can also check the Purdue Catalog, PAGE 14, for a CLEP-Equivalency Score table.

To register for a CLEP® exam a registration-admission form needs to be completed.
This can be done by:
- Personally, picking up a CLEP® booklet. The CLEP® book is blue and located at the top of the booklet display case located outside of Gyte - room 102.
- The registration-admission form can be printed from the website.
- The booklet can be mailed. Call SADC (219) 989-3227 and give the reception your name and address.
The registration-admission form needs returned to our office by drop-off, mail, or fax.

CLEP® tests are by appointment only. Please note your preferred date & time for testing on the registration-admission form. After receiving your form, the test administrator will notify you by either email or phone to confirm a test date.
There is a $55.00 fee payable to CLEP® by check, money order or credit card for each exam taken. If you are taking multiple exams and will be paying CLEP® by check or money order please write a separate check for each exam taken. There is also a separate $15.00 non-refundable service fee payable to Purdue Calumet by check or money order. You may return the checks or money orders with the registration form. Credit card information will be taken on the day of the exam. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB are accepted. Do not send cash. Bring a photo I.D. on the day of the exam. Books, study guides, calculators, etc. are not allowed in the testing area.
If you plan to take an optional essay exam for Freshman College Composition, Analyzing & Interpreting Literature, English Literature, and American Literature there is a separate $10.00 fee. It will take at least two weeks for it to arrive at the testing center. Please note essay exam take an additional 90 minutes. However, you may take the computer portion of the exam and schedule your written exam at a later date. Please plan accordingly.
