The purpose of the Black Student Union is to provide encouragement and
support for our academic and social growth here at Purdue University Calumet.
The Black Student Union provides an organized collective structure that defines,
protects and develops our interest as Black students. We seek to enlighten the
entire university community and to share our commitment, talent and strength. To
this end we engage in discussion groups, social gatherings and service
activities and invite any PUC students to join us, regardless of race, creed or
ethnic origin.

Our purpose is to raise awareness about meat production, namely animal
maltreatment. More precisely we, as a group, oppose factory farming, along with
all other forms of animal abuse. This is why we promote a vegan diet, as a way
to reduce animal suffering. We have a website to be used as a resource for those
looking to go vegetarian/vegan, as well as to let students at Purdue Cal and in
the community know about events our organization has coming up.

Dedicated to reporting campus news and events, the Chronicle publishes weekly
issues during the spring and fall semesters and offers a wide variety of
journalistic experiences to the prospective student-member. From attending
workshops with professional journalists to designing paper layouts, a
student-member can discover the fascinating world of the newspaper.
Students who have a genuine interest and desire to work on the Chronicle can do
so by filling out an application in room C-344F of the Library Building, where
the friendly, helpful staff will be more than willing to "stop the presses" and
give them a listen on the double!

agencies, debates, conferences, and seminars, and also to update the student

of the Criminal Justice department.
