Welcome to the Student Employment Program
What kind of jobs can I get on-campus?
- Federal Work Study
- Non-Federal Work Study
- Temporary Positions
- Project Employment
Getting Started
Step 1: Apply for a free account with CareerTrax. CareerTrax is our
e-recruiting tool that enables you to search for jobs, upload your resume, and
apply directly to jobs on-campus. Obtaining an
application for CareerTrax in the Center for Student Development and Outreach in
SUL-349.
Step 2: Once you receive an email that your CareerTrax account is active
- search on the employer of "Student Employment Office at Purdue Calumet" and
click on "Jobs" under that heading to find on-campus job that you wish to submit
your application. If you have already completed the first step and received your
password you may access
CareerTrax now.
Because each on-campus department’s hiring process is different, they will
indicate in the job posting how to apply for their position. Each posting will have the department’s contact information, so we suggest
calling them directly, if you have questions.
Step 3: Have a current resumé.
An interview by the department contact(s) will be conducted for the open
position, so it is important for you to have a current resumé. Resumé workshops
are offered weekly by Career Services at the Center for Student Development and
Outreach. Learn about tips online for
creating a resumé or visit Career
Services for a resumé assistance workshop.
Step 4: Submit the necessary paperwork to Payroll.
Once you have been selected for a position, your employer will complete
either a Federal Work Study Authorization form (available at the Student
Employment Office) or a Student Wage Authorization Form. You will need to complete a
Student Employment Work Rules form with your supervisor. Hiring forms
must be turned into the Payroll Office, which is located in the Lawshe Building.
