Calculate Wages
Example
Prior to submitting your request, calculate the hours it will take a student to complete the project. Grant monies are for student wages only; they may not be used to cover other incidental costs of the project. If your student works more than the below calculated wages, your department will be responsible for 100% of the cost above and beyond the awarded grant. Please keep in mind that the purpose of these projects are to contribute not only something to the university and/or your department, but to provide the student with experience that closely relates to their major and will give them valuable experience for their resume. Therefore, these positions will pay higher wages then what normally is paid in student wages (i.e. $10 - $15/hour):

Example

Total Cost of Project: $15.00/hour for 20 hours/week for 12 weeks $3600.00
Project Employment Contribution (50% of project, not to exceed $1500.00/project): $1500.00
